P2000 firmware update procedures

The P2000 firmware update consists of two parts, and each part can be upgraded independently:

MCU update (requires a MicroSD card)

Software update (requires a USB stick)

Before performing any updates, in the P2000 menu go to Settings > System and take a screenshot of this screen and save it in your handphone

Part I: MCU update procedures

Click the following links to download the MCU update file

(Please use a computer to download the file)

  1. Save the file into the root directory of the SD card, the file has a .bin filetype. DO NOT alter the file name.
  2. Unplug the FO cable from the P2000, insert the SD card with the MCU update file into the SD slot under the FO socket
  3. Unplug the power cable from the P2000, and plug the power cable back in again
  4. A blue light will start flashing in the LVDS socket (right next to power cable socket). The flashing should not take longer than 1 minute.
  5. After the flashing is completed, REMOVE the SD card first, then unplug the power cable and plug the power cable back in again.
  6. Plug in FO cable
  7. Check the MCU file date in P2000 > Setting > System

The MCU update is successful if the MCU file date is changed to a later one

 

Part II: Software Update Procedures

 Click the following link to download the P2000 software update ZIP file

Download general software update for all P2000 (last update 20210802)

(Please use a computer to download the software update file)

Unzip the files into the root directory of the USB stick, DO NOT change any filename or directory

  1. Insert the USB stick with the software update files into the P2000
  2. A message box with "Find the factory configuration files....." will appear, wait for the "OK" count down to complete
  3. Another message box with "Copy factory configuration files...." will appear, select "OK".
  4. The P2000 will restart. DO NOT remove the USB stick.
  5. "System upgrade, please wait..." will appear, the upgrade could take up to 2 - 3 minutes. When the upgrade is completed, you will be brought back to the P2000 menu. DO NOT remove the USB stick.
  6. A message box with "Find the factory configuration files....." will appear, wait for the "OK" count down to complete
  7. Another message box with "Copy factory configuration files...." will appear, REMOVE USB STICK NOW before selecting "OK".
  8. The P2000 will once again restart, now the upgrade is completed.
  9. Check the software file date in P2000 > Setting > System
